Thoughts

Your are still in my thoughts mate even though it has been a while since you were tragically taken. I remember the times we spent together when we knocked around as young lads in the late 70's/ early 80's....I have many fond memories of the adventures we got up to. After several years of friendship we ended up joining the Special Constabulary together in Northumbria, a lot of folks may not be aware of that. We went out together on duty for the first time in Sunderland town centre back in 1986 as a couple of 19 year olds. We didn't have much of a clue what we were doing but we supported each other, because that's what good cops do....watch each others backs and support one another. We both moved away to follow our careers in the police and though we lost touch with each other we both ended up back in the North East working for Durham Constabulary, you in the South and me in the North. We only ever worked together once in Durham back in 2001 but I remember it well and you had turned into a really fine officer. You even became part of my family for a short while albeit on a very "technical" basis as your first marriage was to the sister of my brother-in-law. You will always stay in my thoughts Mark as you are part of my history. My sincere condolences to all your family members that you leave behind. Alan Liddle

And to think just a few days before you were joking with me with that daft sense of humour you had. Sending love to all your family, especially your little lad. Thanks for all your support. RIP Mark x
